Delete your Startern account

Option 1 — Delete from inside the app (fastest)

If you can still sign in to Startern, you can delete your account yourself in under a minute. The deletion is processed immediately and cannot be undone.

1. Open the Startern app on your phone.
2. Sign in if you’re not already, then tap the Profile tab in the bottom navigation.
3. Tap Edit Profile.
4. Scroll down to the Danger zone section and tap Delete account.
5. Type DELETE to confirm, then tap Delete.

Your account, profile, saved jobs, applications, notifications and uploaded files are all removed in the same step. You will be signed out automatically.

Option 2 — Request deletion by email

If you can’t sign in (lost device, forgotten password, uninstalled app), email us from the address linked to your account and we’ll process the deletion within 30 days, usually much sooner.

Please include the email address you used to sign up so we can verify the request. We will not delete an account based on a request from an unrelated address.

What gets deleted

• Your account and authentication identities (email, Google).
• Your profile (display name, avatar, preferences).
• Your saved jobs and application history.
• Your in-app activity (swipes, search history, feed signals).
• Your push notification tokens and notification history.
• Files you uploaded (avatar images, CV attachments).

What is kept, and for how long

We do not retain personal data after a deletion request is processed. A small amount of anonymized, aggregate analytics (totals, counts) may remain in our systems — this data cannot be traced back to you.

Records that we are legally required to keep (for example, tax or fraud-prevention records, where applicable) are retained only for the period required by law and then deleted.
